  • We will also have a band booster meetings monthly during marching season (July-October) and every other month after marching season (November-June).

There are several opportunities to fundraise and help pay for band fees:

  • RaiseRight (Scrip)
  • Family Arena

    • Volunteer opportunities to work the registers and fill orders
    • Need 6-8 people for one shift
  • Fall Butter Braid Fundraiser

Band fees can be paid by using the FZN Band Booster Square Site (credit card processing fees will be applied) or by check.

During marching season, the Panther Pride Band will use two uniforms, one for football games and one for competitions.

Football Games:

  • Green Wool Uniforms
  • Green Band Shirt & Black Shorts
  • Black crew socks
  • Dinkles

Competitions:

  • Competition Uniforms
  • Show Shirt & Black Shorts/Pants (when not in uniform)
  • Compression Shirt (preferably black)
  • Compression Shorts (preferably black)
  • Black crew socks
  • Dinkles
  • No Makeup (band only)

The band will perform at all home football games. Below is an example of a typical game day itinerary. Final itineraries will be communicated by the band director to students and parents via Band App.

  • Call time is typically 5:00pm
  • Students should arrive to the band room in green band shirts, black shorts/pants, black crew socks, and dinkles
  • Prior to going to the stadium, students will dress in the green wool uniform
  • The band will arrive at the field and play the National Anthem and Fight Song before the game starts
  • Students will sit together on the north end of the home bleachers. Water will be provided by band boosters
  • In most cases, students will perform during half-time.
    • Props and Front Ensemble equipment will need to be moved to the field (see parent volunteer section)
  • Students are typically released around 9:00pm

Below is an example of a typical competition day itinerary. Final itineraries will be communicated by the band director to students and parents via Band App.

  • Day of Competition
    • Students will arrive at FZN in the morning and rehearse on the field
    • After rehearsal, Band Boosters will feed the students
    • After breakfast/lunch, students and parents will help load instruments and equipment onto trailer/trucks
    • Students will get on bus to travel to competition
    • Once students arrive at the location, students and parents will unload instruments and equipment
  • Preliminary Show
    • Students will get dressed in competition uniform
    • Students will warm up in designated area
    • Students, Pit Crew, and Parent volunteers will push props, equipment, and instruments to the field
    • After show, students and parents will move props, equipment, and instruments back to trucks/trailer/busses
    • Band Boosters may feed students again
    • Students will watch other bands until warm up for finals
  • Finals
    • Students will warm up in designated area
    • Students, Pit Crew, and Parent volunteers will push props, equipment, and instruments to the field
    • After show, students and parents will move props, equipment, and instruments back to trucks/trailer/busses
    • Students return to field for awards
    • After awards, students return to trailer/trucks/busses to change out of uniform and load equipment/instruments
    • Students return to FZN
    • Once students return to FZN, students and parents unload trucks and trailer

Below, you’ll find a variety of opportunities for families to volunteer.

  • Pit / Front Ensemble Crew
    • Contact: Amanda Morris bbsecretary@fznband.org 
    • Volunteers are needed to help move equipment and props on and off the field before football games and competitions
  • Uniform Management
    • Contact: Amanda Morris bbsecretary@fznband.org 
    • Volunteers needed to assist students with uniforms (sizing of uniforms, dinkles, and gloves during the summer; help students before and after football games and competitions, etc.)
    • No sign-up is required, just show up to help
    • Will need a new uniform manager for the upcoming season (2025). Please reach out to Amanda Morris for more information
  • Food
    • Food Coordinator: Laurie Wersching
    • Volunteers needed to setup food stations and serve food to students before competitions (no sign-up is required, just show up to help)
    • Sign up Genius for food/water donations will be sent out approximately 1-2 weeks before competition
  • Props

    • Communications will be sent via Band App when volunteers are needed
  • Logistics Crew
    • Contact: Kris Terrill – bbpresident@fznband.org
    • We will have one trailer pull and (4) box trucks
    • Volunteers are needed to pull trailer or drive a box trucks
  • Equipment Load/Unload for Competitions
    • Load / Unload equipment at the high school
    • Load / Unload equipment at the competition sites
    • No sign-up is required, just show up to help!
